Elephants Memory

"The Elephants Memory is living proof of the adage, "the whole is greater than the sum of the parts." The Elephants Memory is made up of many parts. Seven people representing two generations, jazz and rock; two ideologies, that of the rebel and that of the love world. Their music is hard yet soft, happy yet pensive, complex and simple, powerful and delicate, tribal and modern. The group is brassy New York with the radiance of California sun.
Out of all these disparate elements, a unique and honestly individual sound emerges, strong and pure, truly moving. This is the Elephants Memory

Blues Pills

After departing from their former group in september 2011, drummer Cory Berry and bass player Zack Anderson were eager to start a new band of their own. They joined up with Swedish lead singer Elin Larsson and French guitar player Dorian Sorriaux, all being musicians they met in Europe through the years on the road.

Prisma Circus

"Prisma Circus first came to be in late 2010 as the creation of Alex Carmona Blanco (drums) and Joaquin Escudero Arce (bass/vocals) in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Although the acid rock band had an incomplete line up, they decided to continue working and recording an opening EP. With the help of friends (Jordi Rodriguez Gallego, Aureli Rubio Panades and Oscar Garcia Albizu) guitar tracks were add
ed to the EP to complete the sound. Oscar Garcia Albizu (guitar) later joined as a permanent addition to the band.
Prisma Circus, inspired by the 60’s and 70’s psychedelic rock era, uses the lyrics as tales to introduce the instrumental music. Heavy riffs, loud drums, blues-filled bass lines, and fuzzy-wah guitar solos all insure to set the psychedelic mood in every track.
After several shows and small tours over Spain, Portugal and France (sharing stage with bands like Radio Moscow, Deep Sea Green, Plomo, Blues Pills, Guerrera, Syd Arthur, The Flying Eyes...), Barcelona’s trio is completely focused on the production of their new and first full lenght album. Prisma Circus is just on opening time… “

Castellano:

Radio Moscow at la Grange à Musique (Celebration Days event)

With a powerful, crunching Sabbath-style chords and fiery solos that earn the right to be called Hendrixian, Iowa power trio Radio Moscow plants its flag firmly in the territory where psychedelic rock, cranked-up blues, and metal meet. The sound is unabashedly retro (specifically, FM radio from around 1973), so it’s easy to see how it caught the ear of The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach, who produced its 2007 self-titled debut. Like the Keys, Radio Moscow updates an old-school style with pure passion and a refreshing lack of irony. On a break from the band’s current tour, which brings it to the Turf Club Thursday, July 30, guitarist and frontman Parker Griggs talked with The A.V. Club about working with Auerbach and self-producing the new Brain Cycles. – Christopher Bahn / The ONION (A.V. Club – Minneapolis)

Electric smoke at Celebration Days festival 1

Electric Smoke is a Heavy Blues & Biker Psych 4-piece from the Midwest that studies and creates their sound through the '68-'73 Underground heroes of Hard Rock/Psych-Blues era while bringing it forcefully into the 'Here and Now'. Electric Smoke brings a unique diversity of Rock'n'Roll to the forefront of their live performances; Frontman Landon Shayne McKibben has a huge vocal range from soulful heights to haunting lows backed by a history of a traveling choir. Guitarist Brock McKibben draws roots from Heavy Blues and Underground Early 70's Rock w/ fast leads and monster riffs alongside with Matt 'Frizz' Szafranski that has a bass-slapping Funk/Punk style that brings an intensity to the riffs that the two create together while sometimes even conjuring simultaneous leads. The latter is lined up and supported by ground-ponder Robby Stillings on drums making for great time keeping and heavy fills. (Excerpts) Article by Andrew McGinn, Dayton Daily News — -Describing themselves as “heavy psychedelic blues,” this was the stuff that came after all the love-ins — when acid became heroin, when Woodstock became Altamont, when the Maharishi became Manson. -We’re talking Blue Cheer, Black Sabbath, the MC5, Alice Cooper and the Stooges. So far Electric Smoke has been honored to share stages in the U.S. and over seas with bands including: Gravestone Mind (France) Radio Moscow (Iowa, US) Black Market Karma (England) Marcy Playground (New York, US) Buffalo Killers (Ohio, US) Federale (New York, US) Mondo Drag (Iowa, US) Smoke & Feathers (Texas, US) Uncle Meat & The Highway Children (England) Pale Blue Eyes (England) The Main Street Gospel (Ohio, US) Debbie Leggo (England) and many more...
